
Anna Kiknadze – Mezzo
Born in Tbilissi, Georgia, Anna sang principle roles in Tbilissi Opera Theatre prior to graduating from the Tbilissi State Conservatory and is a prize-winner of many international vocal competitions.
In 2000 Anna was admitted to the Mariinsky Young Singers’ Academy and in 2001 she made her debut at the Mariinsky Theatre as Polovtsian Girl in the opera Prince Igor. Since then she has performed Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro), Dalila (Sampson and Dalila), Marquese Melibea (Rossini’s Il Viaggio a Reims), Mother (Stravinsky’s Marvra). In Graz Opera (Austria) she sang Olga (Eugene Onegin) and Antonio (Cimarosa’s Cleopatra) – all at the Mariinsky Theatre.
In addition, she sang Polina (The Queen of Spades) at the Munich States Opera, took part in many international tours of the Mariinsky Opera to USA, Austria, Italy and the UK under Maestro Valery Gergiev, won first prize at the 10th Placido Domingo International Competition in Paris 2002 and tours consistently, performing solo recitals
Sergei Vinogradsky – Tenor
Born in St Petersburg, Sergei entered the Glinka Choral College in 1986 and took part in numerous concerts in Russia, USA, Germany, England and elsewhere with the Boys’ Chorus of the State Academic Cappella. In 1997 he won a diploma at the Dvorak Young Singers’ Competition, Czech Republic and followed this by entering the St Petersburg Conservatoire the following year. In 2000 he was accepted into the Young Singers’ Academy of the Mariinsky Theatre and has given concerts with Larissa Gergieva.
In addition, he has performed in the Armory Chamber of Moscow Kremlin as well as in England, Finland and Germany and has also participated in the Academy concerts at the Mariinsky Theatre. In 2000 he participated in the master-class ‘Sibelius Romances’ in Finland and won third prize in the Rimsky-Korsakov Competition for Singers in St Petersburg.
