
Ilya Bannik - Bass
Upon graduating from St Petersburg Conservatory, Ilya was admitted to the Mariinsky Young Singers’ Academy and became Ede and Ravenscroft’s first scholarship student. Since then, his career has gone from strength to strength as he has taken part in many productions at the Mariinsky Theatre including Iolanta, Eugene Onegi, Prince Igor, Sadko, The Legend of the Invisible City of Kitezh and the Maid Fevronia, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, La Jolie Fille de Perth, Rigoletto, Die Zauberflote, La Sonnambula, Semyon Kotko, The Snow Maiden in concert, Lucia di Lammermoor, War and Peace, Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Un Ballo in Maschera, Il Viaggio a Reims, and La Bohème.
Ilya is a prize-winner of various international competitions and has performed as a soloist with the Mariinsky Opera at Covent Garden.
Svetlana Trifonova – Soprano Having graduated from the Moscow Coservatoire in 1998, Svetlana made her stage debut at the Bolshoi Theatre in the role of the Queen of Shemakah in Le Coq d’Or. She joined the Mariinsky Academy in 1999 and toured the UK, Italy and France with Larissa Gergieva. When she graduated from the Academy in 2001 she went on to join the Mariinsky Opera Company performing with great distinction in St Petersburg and overseas.
