Commode by Baumhauer

A chest of drawers with an oak carcass veneered with casuarina wood, purple wood and tulipwood, mainly in a chequered marquetry of diamonds and squares. The top is made of marble. The original is attributed to Joseph Baumhauer and is housed in the Wallace Collection, London. Early Louis XV period.

Table de Salon
This small oval table (table a écrire) is made from an oak frame while the top and tray are veneered with tulipwood with an inset panel of ebony. Made by Charles Topino of the Louis XV period, the original is currently in a private collection.
