Larissa Gergieva - Artistic Director
Founder of the Mariinsky Young Singers’ Academy, Larissa is a high profile personality and a General Director of the Rimsky-Korsakov International Competition, the International Lisitsian Competition, the People’s Artist of Russia, the People’s Artist of Alania and Artistic Director of the International Summer School in Mikkeli. In addition, she is a jury member for many international competitions.
Larissa has won many prestigious awards and diplomas at international competitions and performs with well-known singers of the Mariinsky Theatre at such world famous concert halls as Carnegie Hall, La Scala and the Wigmore Hall. Recently, she undertook a worldwide tour with her pupils from the Academy. She also gives concert performances in philharmonic halls in Moscow and St Petersburg and has recorded numerous CDs in Britain, Germany, USA, and Russia for Philips Classics and EMI amongst others. She works as a coach on Russian Opera at many renowned international opera houses and festivals.
In the 2003-2004 season, Larissa Gergieva is accompanied Daniil Shtoda in more than fifty recitals in the USA (including Carnegie Hall), Canada and Europe. She also gave master-classes and performed a series of concerts internationally.
