2008 SCHOLARSHIPS
Andrey Bondarenko – Baritone
Andrey was admitted to the Mariinsky Theatre Young Singers’ Academy in St Petersburg in 2007. Previously he attended the Tchaikovsky National Musical Academy in Kiev and the Kiev Conservatory and was a soloist of the Ukrainian National Philharmonic Society.
In 2008 he sang at the Mariinsky vocal master classes in Finland and toured with the Mariinsky Young Singers’ performing recitals with Larissa Gergieva in France and Switzerland, and has won the All-Russian Obukhova Vocal Competition.
Dmitry Demidchik – Baritone
In 2002 Dmitry left music college and entered the St Petersburg Conservatory. He joined the Mariinsky Young Singers’ Academy in 2005 and has already sung small parts on the Mariinsky stage.
He toured with the Mariinsky theatre in Kiev, Finland, Paris, Washington and Madrid and has taken part in master classes with renowned vocalists including Luciano Pavarotti. In 2008 he won 3rd prize at the International Rimsky-Korsakov Competition of Young Opera singers in St Petersburg.
Maria Solovieva – Soprano
In 2005 Maria graduated with a Diploma of Excellence from the State Donezk Prokofiev Musical Academy in the Ukraine. She was invited to join the Mariinsky Young Singers’ Academy in 2006 after being awarded a special prize at the International Rimsky-Korsakov Vocal Competition in St Petersburg.
In 2008 she toured with Larissa Gergieva and the Young Singers’ Academy.
Eleonora Vindau – Soprano
Eleanora was invited to join the Young Singers’ Academy in 2007 after attending the Mariinsky vocal master classes in Finland. Previously, she attended the Tchaikovsky National Musical Academy in Kiev and the Kiev Conservatory.
Since October 2007 she has been a soloist of the Mariinsky Academy and participates in concerts and recitals with Larissa Gergieva and other young singers. In November 2008 year she took part in a concert in Japan under Leo Hussein singing Mozart arias.
